Indulge in the perfect blend of citrusy orange zest and rich dark chocolate chips, brought together in a chewy olive oil-based cookie. This recipe, inspired by une gamine dans la cuisine, adds a touch of elegance to your traditional cookie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt

In another bowl, mix the olive oil and sugar until well combined

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the olive oil mixture, and mix until smooth

Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined

Fold in the orange zest and dark chocolate chips

Scoop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them apart

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely
