Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of smoked cheddar cheese
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup lettuce leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for grilling
Instructions:
Warm up the grill over medium-high heat
Shape the ground beef into 4 burger patties that are all the same size
Add salt and pepper to each patty
Use vegetable oil to brush on the grill grates to keep food from sticking
Put the burger patties on the grill and cook them for about 4 to 5 minutes on each side for medium-rare burgers
You can change the cooking time to get the level of doneness you like
Just before the burgers are done, put a slice of smoked cheddar cheese on top of each one and close the grill lid to melt the cheese
Toast the hamburger buns on the grill until they are just barely crispy while the burgers are cooking
The buns and burgers should be taken off the grill
Spread ranch dressing on the bottom half of each bun before putting the burgers together
On top of the ranch dressing, put a lettuce leaf
Then, add a burger patty with melted cheese
Put some avocado slices and red onion slices that are very thin on top of the burger
Put the top half of the bun on top to finish
Smoked cheddar and avocado ranch burgers are great together
Serve them hot and enjoy
