This hearty beef stew with Jacobs Creek Sparkling Shiraz Wine is a great dish for cold nights because it tastes great with everything. Each spoonful of the tasty broth is a treat because the wine gives it more depth and complexity.
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle Jacobs Creek Sparkling Shiraz Wine
- 2 lbs beef stew meat, cubed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 celery stalks, sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
Warm up the olive oil in a big pot over medium-high heat
Put in the beef stew meat and cook it until all sides are browned
Take the beef out of the pot and set it aside
Put onions and garlic in the same pot
Cook the onions until they become clear
Put in mushrooms, carrots, and celery
Bring it to a boil again
Put the beef back in the pot
Add the beef broth and Jacobs Creek Sparkling Shiraz Wine
Add the bay leaf, salt, pepper, thyme, and tomato paste and mix well
Bring to a low boil, then turn down the heat
Put the lid on top and cook for 1 to 2 hours, or until the beef is soft
