Ingredients:
- 250g pasta of your choice
- 200g Italian sausage, casing removed
- 200g mushrooms, sliced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can 400g diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions:
Follow the directions on the package to cook the pasta
Remove the water and set it aside
With a spatula, break up the Italian sausage into smaller pieces as it cooks in a large skillet over medium-low heat until it is browned and done
Take the sausage out of the pan and set it aside
If you need to, add a little olive oil to the same skillet and saut the onions until they become clear
Then, add the garlic and cook for one more minute
When you add the sliced mushrooms to the pan, cook them until they dry out and turn brown
Its time to add the chicken broth, heavy cream, dried oregano and basil, salt, and pepper
Turn the heat down to low and let it cook for five minutes
Put the cooked sausage back into the pan and mix it all together
It needs another two to three minutes to heat all the way through
The sausage and mushroom sauce should be mixed well with the cooked pasta
Grate Parmesan cheese and chop fresh parsley on top and serve hot
Have fun with your tasty sausage mushroom pasta
